Com a tasca final del curs vaig haver de traduir el text d’ací baix tret d’un fullet del Palau de Scone, Escòcia, de l’anglés a l’espanyol. A continuació, pots llegir la meua traducció, al costat del text original.

Enjoy the Palace and its rare and beautiful collections. Walk along the Long Gallery, once the longest room in Scotland where Charles II processed to his Coronation and where Queen Victoria watched a display of the sport of curling. Ask our attentive guides about the French furniture given to our family by the ill-fated Queen of France, Marie Antoinette, or the bed-hangings worked on by the famous Mary, Queen of Scots.
Take a break to enjoy a cup of tea and a delicious scone in our welcoming coffee shop before stepping out into our extensive Grounds. Explore the Pinetum and visit the famous Douglas fir before taking on the challenge of the star shaped maze. Children can have an adventure of their own in our playground. Step into our Kitchen Garden where we grow a selection of vegetable, herbs and flowers which are used in the Palace kitchen.
Every day brings something different at Scone and each year we welcome new events in both the Palace and Grounds. This year we will be expanding our unique and atmospheric lightning event, Spirits of Scone. We hope that you enjoy your visit and share the same pleasure we do from this historic place.

Sumérgete en la historia de Escocia mientras visitas Moot Hill, donde se celebraba la ceremonia de proclamación y coronación de los reyes de los escoceses, para después coronarles en la célebre Piedra de Scone.
Explora el palacio y sus hermosas y excepcionales colecciones, camina por la Gran Galería, que antaño fue la habitación más larga de Escocia y desde donde Carlos II de Inglaterra fue en procesión hacia su coronación y la reina Victoria del Reino Unido vio una muestra de curling. Nuestros amables guías podrán contarte más sobre los muebles franceses que la desafortunada reina de Francia, María Antonieta, regaló a nuestra familia o las colgaduras de cama en las que trabajó la famosa María I de Escocia.
Tómate un descanso y degusta una taza de té y un scone, un panecillo tradicional escocés, en nuestra acogedora cafetería antes de salir a explorar nuestros extensos jardines. Pasea por el pinar y visita el famoso abeto de Douglas antes de adentrarte en el desafiante laberinto en forma de estrella. Los más pequeños vivirán su propia aventura en nuestro parque infantil. También podrás visitar nuestra huerta, en la que cultivamos una variedad de verduras, hierbas y flores que utilizamos en la cocina del palacio.
Cada día es diferente en Scone y cada año presentamos nuevos eventos en el palacio y los jardines. Este año ampliamos nuestra oferta con el evento especial de Halloween, Spirits of Scone (espíritus de Scone). Esperamos que disfrutes de la visita y de este lugar histórico tanto como nosotros.
